Celebrating Monster Hunter's 20th anniversary, Capcom and Bandai have teamed up to release the "Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition"! This special edition of the popular Digimon V-Pet features designs based on the iconic Rathalos and Zinogre monsters.

Monster Hunter & Digimon: A 20th Anniversary Collaboration

The Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition is a collectible pocket-sized digital pet device. Each device, priced at 7,700 Yen (approximately $53.2 USD, excluding shipping), boasts a vibrant color LCD screen, advanced UV printing, and a rechargeable battery.

Features include:

  • Color LCD screen
  • Rechargeable battery
  • Customizable background designs
  • "Cold Mode" to temporarily pause monster growth, hunger, and strength
  • Backup system to save game progress and monster data

Pre-orders and Global Release

Pre-orders for the Japanese release are currently open on Bandai's official online store. However, international customers should be aware of potential additional shipping costs.

Currently, there's no official announcement regarding a global release. Demand is high, with the devices reportedly selling out shortly after the announcement. The first pre-order window closes at 11:00 p.m. JST (7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET) today. Follow the Digimon Web Twitter (X) account for updates on future pre-order opportunities. The release date is slated for April 2025.
