If you're a fan of Japanese music, you're no stranger to HYDE, the iconic musician who has graced stages like Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records. Now, HYDE takes center stage in a new endless runner game, "Hyde Run," which has just launched globally. Initially released in Japan, the game now offers fans around the world a unique way to celebrate HYDE's illustrious career, courtesy of developer and publisher Phoenixx.
Move, Jump, or Slide in Hyde Run
In "Hyde Run," you'll experience the thrill of parkour across a concert stage intertwined with a futuristic Tokyo. As HYDE, you'll navigate a high-speed chase through Neo Tokyo, skillfully dodging obstacles, wall-running past vibrant billboards, and collecting musical notes along the way. The game's atmosphere is a vibrant mix of neon and noise, setting it apart from typical endless runners with its infusion of guitar solo energy and HYDE-specific fan service.
While dashing through the city, you can grab various power-ups such as magnets to attract more notes or barriers to protect against damage. Before each run, you can activate items like Note Gain to boost your note collection or a Barrier to avoid tripping over obstacles. Additionally, you can collect crystals to unlock exclusive outfits and room items reflecting HYDE's career, and even access voice clips from HYDE himself by unlocking the Microphone Stand.
There’s More Stuff in the Game to Do
"Hyde Run" allows you to personalize HYDE's room with memorabilia spanning 20 years of his career, from tour gear to more obscure references. Hidden items unlock additional messages and voice notes from HYDE, adding an extra layer of engagement. Currently, there's limited-time content available until June 10th, 2025, including the THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set, which features HYDE in an iconic look from his music video, accompanied by matching ROCK Furniture like leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights.
For a more relaxed vibe, there's the Bat Jinbei Costume Set, inspired by summer festivals. If you prefer a traditional Japanese feel, you can opt for the Japanese-style furniture set, complete with bamboo, bonboris, and a wind chime shaped like HYDE's Edyh character.
