Insomniac Games almost gave us Resistance 4. While a pitch was made and the concept was strong, according to outgoing president Ted Price, timing and market opportunity ultimately prevented the game from getting the green light. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price revealed this unmade game as a personal favorite, expressing the team's passion for continuing the Resistance story. He noted the series' unique alternate history setting, ripe with possibilities for the Chimera's origins and future conflicts.
The Resistance series, a trio of PlayStation 3 first-person shooters, followed Insomniac's work on Ratchet & Clank. Set in a 1951 alternate history where aliens invade the UK, the series concluded before Insomniac shifted focus to projects like Marvel's Spider-Man and newer Ratchet & Clank titles.
Price's recent retirement announcement after over three decades at Insomniac Games also saw the naming of Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang as the studio's new Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, with Marvel's Wolverine next in the pipeline.
