New Magic: The Gathering Cards Revealed for Final Fantasy Set

For Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts, the wait for the new Final Fantasy set might feel endless, but Wizards of the Coast has just given fans an exciting sneak peek at over a dozen brand-new cards. This reveal includes iconic characters such as Sephiroth, Yuffie, Cecil, Garland, and Chaos, among others, keeping the excitement levels high.

Alongside the previously showcased commander cards featuring Tidus, Cloud, Y'shtola, and Terra, the new look also introduces various powerful legendaries and fresh art variations. Notable among these are new designs for the Food token, as well as art variations on cards like Stilzkin, Moogle Merchant; Sin, Spira's Punishment; and the innovative Summon: Shiva. The preview also highlights unique set features, such as the introduction of Summons, which are Magic's first-ever Saga creatures that players can summon for assistance during battles, exemplified by the Summon: Shiva card. Additionally, the set reintroduces double-faced cards, showcased through Cecil's dual nature as both a Dark Knight and a Redeemed Paladin.

The Final Fantasy set is set to be a comprehensive offering, boasting over 100 legendary creature cards, including 55 legendary borderless cards illustrated by beloved artists from the Final Fantasy series. This set will be fully draftable and Standard-legal, launching on June 13 alongside four preconstructed Commander decks. Each deck, themed around Final Fantasy games 6, 7, 10, and 14, will contain 100 cards, blending new Final Fantasy cards with existing ones adorned with fresh Final Fantasy art.
