Is Marvel Rivals Doing a Mid Season Rank Reset for Season 1?

Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset

A recent Marvel Rivals update sparked confusion regarding a potential rank reset. While many live-service games reset ranks at the start of each season, Marvel Rivals initially planned a mid-season reset for Season 1 on February 21, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch.

However, due to significant negative player feedback, NetEase Games reversed course. The developer announced that there will be no mid-season rank reset. Players will retain their existing ranks and scores. To earn new rewards, including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor, players only need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the end of the season.

This decision highlights NetEase's responsiveness to player concerns and provides high-ranking players with an extended period to compete at the top level.

What's New in the Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update?

Besides the addition of The Thing and Human Torch, the mid-season update includes unspecified character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs). Details on these changes are yet to be revealed.

Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
