Marvel Rivals Sets February Release Date for The Thing and Human Torch

Author : Jason Update:Feb 19,2025

Get ready, Marvel Rivals fans! The Fantastic Four is almost complete. The Thing and Human Torch join the playable roster on February 21st, 2025, bringing fiery and rocky action to the popular hero shooter.

This exciting addition coincides with a Season 1.5 update, promising significant balance adjustments, as teased in a recent developer blog post. While details remain scarce, expect major gameplay shifts. Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman, introduced earlier in Season 1, already redefined the meta with their unique abilities. We anticipate similar game-changing mechanics from Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm.

The update also includes a ranked reset. On February 21st, all ranked players will see their rank drop four divisions. This is part of a planned system where full seasons will result in a six-division drop, and mid-season updates a four-division drop. NetEase assures players this system is subject to adjustments based on community feedback.

However, it's not all bad news! Gold-ranked players can anticipate new costume rewards, and a new Crest of Honor system will recognize top performers at Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All levels (top 500).

Creative director Guangyun Chen previously confirmed a new playable character every six weeks, suggesting a steady stream of Marvel heroes. Speculation points towards Blade as the next addition, though official confirmation is pending.

In the meantime, check out our current Marvel Rivals Season 1 tier list to strategize your gameplay before the mid-season update reshapes the competitive landscape. The original Season 1 patch significantly altered the meta, and the community is eagerly anticipating the impact of this next update.
