Metro 15th Anniversary Updates
Metro 2033 Redux Is Free Until April 16

In a thrilling move to celebrate their 15th anniversary, Metro is offering Metro 2033 Redux for free for the next 48 hours. Announced via Metro's official Twitter (X) account on April 14, 4A Games is giving away this iconic title on Steam and Xbox until April 16 at 3 PM UTC / 5 PM CET / 9 AM PT. This initiative aims to introduce new players to the gripping world of Metro, starting right from the beginning.
Moreover, 4A Games provided an update in March about their plans for the anniversary. In a blog post dated March 16 on their official website, they outlined a year filled with events, deals, and celebratory content across Metro's social media channels to express gratitude to their dedicated fanbase.

Founded in Kyiv, Ukraine, and later expanding to Malta, 4A Games draws inspiration from Dmitry Glukhovsky's renowned science fiction novel Metro 2033 and its sequels. Amidst the ongoing challenges in their home country, the developers remain committed to exploring themes related to the war in Ukraine. They have shared, "These circumstances are incredibly challenging, the situation remains dangerous and not within our control, but we are currently as safe as possible, and we want to manage your expectations around the reveal of the next Metro title, it will be ready when it is ready, and we can’t wait for you to see it."
The Next Metro

4A Games is currently hard at work on two major projects: the next Metro game and an entirely new intellectual property. While details about the new IP remain under wraps, the developers have shared some insights into the upcoming Metro title.
The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has deeply influenced the development and narrative direction of the next Metro game. The team explained, "As we said in our last studio update, in 2022 a full-scale russian invasion changed how we wanted to tell the story of the next Metro game. As art became life for many of our developers in Ukraine, we drew from that lived experience to create an even darker story, those themes already present in Metro becoming ever-more apparent and important."
Despite the challenges, 4A Games' dedication to crafting impactful, reality-inspired narratives remains unwavering. They assure fans that they will rise above these difficulties to deliver a compelling new chapter in the Metro saga, one that resonates more deeply than ever with the current global climate.
