Nintendo's Alarmo alarm clock: Japan release delayed, global availability unaffected
Due to unexpectedly high demand and subsequent inventory shortages, Nintendo has announced a postponement of the general retail release of its Alarmo alarm clock in Japan. Initially scheduled for February 2025, the launch has been delayed indefinitely. This delay, however, does not currently affect the planned March 2025 global release.
Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch Online Members
To manage the current stock limitations, Nintendo Japan will offer a pre-order system exclusively to Japanese Nintendo Switch Online subscribers starting mid-December 2024. Shipping is anticipated for early February 2025. The precise pre-order start date will be announced shortly.
The Alarmo: A Popular Gaming Alarm Clock
Launched globally in October 2024, the Alarmo quickly gained popularity. This interactive alarm clock features iconic soundtracks from beloved Nintendo franchises such as Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, with additional sounds promised via future updates.
The initial worldwide launch, including online sales (requiring a Nintendo Switch Online subscription), led to immediate sell-outs at both physical and online Nintendo stores worldwide, including Japan and the New York Nintendo store. Online orders were temporarily suspended and transitioned to a lottery system.
Keep an eye out for further updates regarding the pre-order specifics and the rescheduled general sales date in Japan.
