Pokémon TCG Pocket is adding a highly anticipated trading system! This new feature, launching later this month, lets you exchange cards with friends, mirroring the real-world experience.
One of the biggest draws of physical TCGs is the social aspect of trading. Pokémon TCG Pocket aims to replicate this with its new system. However, there are some key limitations:
- Rarity Matching: Only cards of the same rarity (1-4 stars) can be traded.
- Friend-to-Friend Only: Trading is restricted to friends on your friend list.
- Consumable Items: To initiate a trade, you must use a consumable item; you won't retain a copy of the card you're trading.
The developers plan to monitor the system's performance closely and make adjustments as needed. While some rarity tiers may be excluded from trading initially, and the use of consumable currency for trades remains to be fully clarified, this implementation is a promising step towards a more complete digital TCG experience.
