Pokémon GO Announces New Tour Pass for Unova Event
A new Tour Pass for the upcoming Pokémon GO Tour: Unova event will be available from February 24th to March 9th, offering various rewards and milestone achievements. Players can progress through the pass by earning Tour Points through in-game activities such as catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching eggs.
The event builds upon the annual Pokémon GO Tour tradition, celebrating a specific Pokémon region. Previous Tours have featured Kanto and Sinnoh, introducing new Shiny Pokémon and special variants. This year's Unova-themed event promises exciting Gen 5 Pokémon encounters, raids, and egg hatches.
A free Tour Pass will be available to all players, unlocking rewards upon reaching designated milestones. These rewards include items like Candy and Stickers, culminating in an encounter with a special Zorua. All rewards expire on March 9th at 6 pm local time.
For a more comprehensive experience, a Deluxe Tour Pass will be offered for $14.99 (or $19.99 with 10 pre-unlocked ranks) on the Pokémon GO in-app store from February 24th at 10 am to March 2nd at 6 pm local time. This version grants access to all free and paid rewards, an encounter with the Mythical Pokémon Victini, and a new Lucky Trinket item. The Lucky Trinket instantly transforms a chosen friend into a Lucky Friend, guaranteeing a Lucky Pokémon on the next trade before resetting the Lucky Friend status. Deluxe Pass rewards, including the Lucky Trinket, also expire on March 9th at 6 pm local time.
The Unova Tour Pass aims to heighten anticipation for the main event, which will feature the debut of Kyurem (Black and White forms) via fusion, mirroring last year's Necrozma debut. Shiny Meloetta will also make its appearance via a ticketed Masterwork Research.
