Pokémon Go is bringing back the Bug Out event with Sizzlipede’s debut this time

Author : Patrick Update:Apr 02,2025

The Bug Out event is making a thrilling comeback to Pokémon Go, and it's set to run from March 26th to 30th. This exciting event introduces Sizzlipede and its evolution, Centiskorch, and promises a plethora of Bug-type Pokémon encounters, raids, bonuses, and new challenges.

During the Bug Out event, Lure Modules will be crucial. Not only will they attract Sizzlipede, but they'll also enhance the number of Pokémon appearing at a PokéStop if a significant number are caught using a single Lure Module.

Additionally, players will enjoy double XP and extra Candy for Nice Throws or better, with an increased chance of Candy XL for trainers level 31 and above. Shiny hunters will have better odds of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.

The wild will be teeming with Bug-types, including frequent appearances of Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Nincada, Venipede, Dwebble, Joltik, Grubbin, Dewpider, and Nymble. Keep your eyes peeled for the rare Cutiefly.

In one-star raids, you'll find Sizzlipede alongside Scyther and Nincada, while Beedrill, Scizor, and Kleavor will dominate the three-star raids. Completing event-themed Field Research tasks will grant you Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with event Pokémon.

Don't miss out on the free Timed Research opportunity, which includes encounters with Shedinja, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more, along with a Lure Module. For those seeking additional rewards, a Paid Timed Research option is available for $2 (or the local equivalent), offering encounters with Heracross, Sizzlipede, and Kleavor, plus two Premium Battle Passes and an extra Lure Module.

New Collection Challenges will reward you with Stardust, XP, and Pokémon encounters, while PokéStop Showcases will spotlight event-themed Pokémon. Be sure to check out the in-game shop for the new Sizzlipede Boots and a Scolipede Jacket.
