The first wave of 2025 prebuilt gaming PCs, featuring the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 and 5090 graphics cards, is now available for purchase. Leading retailers such as Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg, Adorama, and B&H Photo have introduced new listings on their websites, starting today. If you're in the market for a complete system equipped with these cutting-edge GPUs, this is a prime opportunity to secure one, especially since major OEMs like Dell (Alienware), HP (Omen), and Lenovo (Legion) won't release their own models until the end of the first quarter.
For those seeking standalone GPUs, you'll need to refer to our comprehensive RTX 5090 and 5080 preorder guide to find out which retailers might have them in stock. Be aware, though, that launch-day GPU stock often sells out within hours or even minutes. Retailers have warned of potential inventory shortages, and recent Nvidia GPU launches have been affected by bots that snap up GPUs for resale at inflated prices.

Dell has just unveiled its new Alienware Area-51 lineup of gaming PCs for 2025. Currently, they are available in two configurations, both featuring an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, starting at an impressive $4,449.99. However, don't expect immediate delivery; Dell estimates that these systems will arrive at your door by April 22.
New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis
Dell introduced the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis design is similar to the 2024 R16 model, but it includes minor aesthetic and cooling updates along with refreshed components. The I/O panel is now located at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window extends across the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side panel vents. Air intakes are now positioned at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design for a less dusty interior. Internally, the system boasts a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest generation of CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.

Boutique PC Retailers with Built-to-Order RTX 50XX Systems
Several boutique retailers are offering the ability to customize systems with RTX 5090 and/or 5080 GPUs. New RTX 50-series GPU configurations are available at iBuyPower, Origin PC, Maingear, Starforge Systems, NZXT, and Digital Storm. While this offers flexibility, built-to-order systems can be quite expensive and are often less cost-effective.
Dell (Alienware), HP, and Lenovo Prebuilt PCs Coming Later
Major OEMs such as Dell (Alienware), HP, and Lenovo will not introduce their prebuilt gaming desktops with the new RTX 50-series GPUs until later in the year. Dell showcased the Alienware Area 51 gaming PC at CES 2025, expected to launch with Nvidia's new GPUs later in the first quarter. HP plans to offer the RTX 5090 and 5080 in its flagship Omen 45L, likely in mid to late February. Lenovo has not yet announced when it will start integrating the new GPUs into its Legion Tower gaming desktops.
Our RTX 5090 FE and 5080 FE Reviews Are Live
Nvidia officially unveiled its 50-series GPUs at CES 2025, focusing on enhanced AI features rather than just raw hardware performance. DLSS 4 technology claims to quadruple frame rates with minimal visual compromise. While these GPUs offer a modest performance boost, opinions on their value for PC gamers compared to the RTX 40-series cards vary.
In our review of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE, Jackie Thomas noted, "The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has officially taken the performance crown from the RTX 4090, but with less force than previous generations. In traditional non-AI gaming, the RTX 5090 provides one of the smallest generational uplifts in recent memory. However, in games that support it, DLSS 4 really does deliver huge performance gains – you just have to make your peace with the fact that 75% of the frames are generated with AI."
Similarly, in the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie observed, "If you already have a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 doesn’t make a lot of sense – it just doesn’t have much of a performance lead over the RTX 4080, though the extra frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation do make things look better in games that support it. However, for gamers with an older graphics card who want a significant performance boost, the RTX 5080 absolutely provides – doubly so if you’re comfortable with Nvidia’s AI goodies."
