The new Resident Evil 6 remaster might be coming soon

The ESRB website has quietly updated the rating for Resident Evil 6, confirming its Mature 17+ rating and, importantly, adding the Xbox Series X|S to its supported platforms.

Initially released in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Resident Evil 6 received a remaster in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This new listing strongly suggests another re-release, likely for both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, though official confirmation is pending.

Interestingly, the game's genre description has shifted. Previous versions were categorized as "third-person shooters," while this new listing describes it as "survival horror." This subtle change hints at potential differences between this version and the previous remaster, though specifics remain undisclosed. Further details are expected with an official announcement.

Beyond this remaster, anticipation is building for Resident Evil 9. Rumors suggest the game will be set four years after the events of Resident Evil Village.
