Roland-Garros eSeries 2025: New eSports Team Format Unveiled

Get ready for the return of the Roland-Garros eSeries in 2025! Following last year's thrilling competition, this year's tournament promises even more excitement with a brand-new team-based format, legendary tennis captains, and a €5,000 prize pool up for grabs. Returning sponsors Renault and Mastercard add to the prestige, offering players the chance to customize their characters with official Roland-Garros 2025 outfits and the exclusive Renault 5 Roland-Garros string.

When Does It Start?

The Roland-Garros eSeries kicks off in March with open qualifiers, the first step for players to secure a coveted spot in the finals. Three qualifying stages will take place from March 6-11, March 20-25, and April 3-8, determining the elite contenders. Top female players from the first two qualifiers will automatically advance alongside the overall winners. The grand finale sees finalists battling it out at the Roland-Garros Tenniseum Auditorium on May 24th, live and streamed on Twitch.

What’s New This Year?

This year marks a significant change with the introduction of a team-based format. Finalists will compete as part of teams, each captained by a prominent figure in French tennis. Gilles Simon, former ATP world No. 6 and Davis Cup champion, is already confirmed as one captain, bringing his expertise and experience from commentating since 2023 and competing in the 2024 Top 8. His rival captain remains a mystery, but organizers have hinted at a Grand Slam winner.

The competition will be fierce! The winning team from the initial phase enters the double-elimination bracket from the winner's side, while the losing team begins in the loser's bracket. With 548,000 participants from 215 territories last year, expect an even more intense battle for victory in 2025.
