Housemarque's next title, Saros, is set to launch in 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and enhanced for the PS5 Pro. The game, revealed during the PlayStation State of Play, stars Rahul Kohli and promises a signature Housemarque experience.
Players will take on the role of Arjun Devraj, a Solatri enforcer investigating a perilous, ever-changing planet shrouded in an eclipse and menaced by a formidable entity. The gameplay trailer hints at the familiar roguelite elements of Returnal, with the tagline "come back stronger" and spectacular displays of explosive, bullet-hell action.
Creative director Gregory Louden describes Saros as the "ultimate evolution" of Housemarque's gameplay-focused approach. While a new single-player IP, it builds upon the third-person action established in Returnal. However, Louden highlights a key difference: Saros features permanent resource management and progression. While the game world shifts after death, similar to Returnal, players will retain and upgrade their weapons and suits.
Housemarque plans to unveil extended gameplay footage later this year. For a complete rundown of today's PlayStation State of Play announcements, check out our comprehensive recap.
