Following Silksong’s brief appearance at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, fans speculated that the game might bypass the current-generation console and launch directly on the next-gen platform. Originally announced in 2019 for PC and Switch 1, Silksong later saw confirmed releases for PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

On April 8, Matthew Griffin, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, took to Twitter (X) to address these concerns. Griffin clarified that Silksong is set to release on both the original Switch and the upcoming Switch 2. While there's no official word on the differences between these versions, players can anticipate that the game will benefit from the enhanced capabilities of the Switch 2, likely offering higher resolution and improved performance.

New Silksong Images Revealed

Following the Switch 2 Direct, fresh images of Silksong surfaced on Nintendo Japan’s official website. Though these images depict previously seen locations, fans have noted subtle graphical enhancements since the initial 2019 reveal.

Despite the developers maintaining a tight-lipped stance on most details about the game, Silksong’s fleeting appearance during the Switch 2 Direct and the release of new images fuel speculation that an announcement regarding the release date could be imminent.
