Excitement is building among *Hollow Knight: Silksong* enthusiasts following a minor update to the game's Steam metadata. According to SteamDB, the update on March 24 included the game being opted-in for GeForce NOW, ensuring compatibility with NVIDIA's cloud gaming platform upon its release. Additionally, there were modifications to the game's hidden assets and legal information, with the copyright now listed as Team Cherry 2025, up from the original 2019 listing. While these changes don't confirm an imminent release, they suggest that something related to Silksong might be on the horizon. Adding to the buzz, *Hollow Knight: Silksong* was name-dropped in an Xbox Indies post, further fueling speculation about its release. In a March 18 article on Xbox Wire, ID@Xbox director Guy Richards highlighted the success of the ID@Xbox program, noting over $5 billion paid to indie developers. He celebrated past hits such as Balatro, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and Phasmophobia, and then teased the upcoming lineup, which includes Silksong. Richards stated, "Looking ahead, our lineup is incredible with upcoming games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Descenders Next, and FBC: Firebreak to play across the whole Xbox universe… and of course Hollow Knight: Silksong too!"

While the other mentioned games have confirmed release dates within this year—Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on April 24, Descenders Next on April 9, and FBC: Firebreak slated for 2025—Silksong's release date remains unconfirmed, though its inclusion in the lineup suggests it could be approaching.

First Revealed in February 2019

*Hollow Knight: Silksong* was first unveiled by Team Cherry in February 2019 as a full-scale sequel to the original *Hollow Knight*. Initially conceived as a DLC, the project grew too expansive and unique to fit that format. A gameplay trailer was showcased at the Xbox-Bethesda event in 2022, where Microsoft promised all featured content would be available within the next 12 months. However, in 2023, Team Cherry announced a delay beyond the first half of that year, committing to ongoing development and promising updates as the release neared.

Early this year, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, Matthew Griffin, affirmed the game's existence and ongoing development in a January 18 Twitter (X) post, stating, "Yes the game is real, progressing and will release." While this statement offers little detail, it provides a crucial reassurance to fans eagerly awaiting news.

With these recent developments, anticipation continues to build. *Hollow Knight: Silksong* is expected to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Although no official release date has been announced by Team Cherry, stay tuned to our updates for the latest information on this highly anticipated game.
