The Sims franchise is in the midst of celebrating its monumental 25th anniversary, and Electronic Arts has been rolling out a detailed roadmap for the festivities. However, it appears that there might be more in store for fans than what's been officially announced.
Recently, The Sims team dropped a teaser that's packed with nods to the first two games in the series. This has sparked a wave of speculation among the community, with many believing that these beloved classics could be making a comeback. While there's no official word from EA yet, insiders at Kotaku have hinted that we might see digital PC versions of The Sims 1 and 2, complete with all their original expansion packs, released by the end of the week.
Should these rumors hold true, the big question on everyone's mind is whether there will also be a console release, and if so, when might we expect it? Given the lucrative potential of tapping into fans' nostalgia, it seems unlikely that EA would miss out on such an opportunity.
It's worth noting that The Sims 1 and 2 were released many years ago, and currently, there are virtually no legal avenues for players to enjoy these titles. A re-release would not only be a nod to the franchise's rich history but also a delightful treat for long-time fans eager to relive their favorite gaming memories.
