Romancing SaGa Re:universe Global Server Closure Announced
The global version of Romancing SaGa Re:universe will officially cease operations on December 2nd, 2024. While this may come as a surprise to some, the Japanese version will continue running.
Two Months Remain
With the December shutdown approaching, in-app purchases of jewels and Google Play Points exchanges have already been discontinued following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.
Launched in June 2020, the global version's four-year run is concluding. Despite its impressive visuals, soundtrack, and generous gacha mechanics, the game received a mixed reception. Unlike its highly popular Japanese counterpart, the global version lacked significant content updates such as the Solistia expansion and 6-star unit upgrades, a year-long absence that contributed to player attrition.
Community Feedback
Square Enix, the developer, has already closed several titles this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games.
Romancing SaGa Re:universe, a turn-based RPG rooted in the classic SaGa series, offers players two remaining months of gameplay. Those unfamiliar with the game have a final opportunity to experience it via the Google Play Store.
