Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl offers a diverse arsenal, letting players select weapons that suit their playstyle. Beyond standard firearms, unique weapon variants boast special modifications and increased power; the Cavalier sniper rifle is a prime example. This unique rifle features a red-dot sight instead of a traditional scope, making it effective at short to medium ranges. Here's how to acquire it.
Acquiring the Cavalier Sniper Rifle
The Cavalier is located near the Military Unit within the Duga base in Stalker 2. It's hidden inside a warehouse connected to a greenhouse. If you've previously retrieved the Journalist stash, accessing the base via the second entrance should be straightforward.
Locating the Warehouse
Upon entering Duga, proceed towards the Military Unit building (marked on your map). Instead of entering the building, circumvent it to reach the rear greenhouse. Beware of two Pseudogiants patrolling the area; they'll attack on sight. Approach the greenhouse cautiously to avoid confrontation.
Once inside the greenhouse, you'll enter the warehouse. Be prepared for multiple rat swarms that will inflict damage. Utilize the elevated green platforms at the warehouse's rear to avoid the rats, or eliminate them with a grenade.
Retrieving the Cavalier
After dealing with the rats, examine the warehouse ceiling above the greenhouse entrance. You'll see yellow-painted wooden boards. Shoot these boards with your weapon to dislodge the Cavalier sniper rifle.
After retrieving the rifle, safely exit Duga. The Cavalier can be upgraded by Screw, the technician at Rostok base. Its high damage and accuracy are further enhanced through upgrades and modifications. For players preferring red-dot sights over scopes on sniper rifles, the Cavalier is an excellent close-to-medium range option.
