S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Roadmap for Q2 2025
Updates Every 3 Months
GSC Gameworld, the developer behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, has unveiled their latest roadmap, committing to quarterly updates to keep the game fresh and responsive to player feedback. The roadmap was shared via STALKER's official Twitter (X) on April 14, outlining the vision for Q2 2025.
The developers will provide detailed breakdowns of the roadmap every three months, accompanied by patch notes to ensure transparency on the implementation of planned features.
Following the comprehensive Q1 updates that addressed significant issues and deployed numerous hotfixes, GSC Gameworld is set to continue enhancing the game with the following updates:
- Beta Mod SDK Kit
- A-Life/AI Updates
- Mutant Loot
- Shader Compilation Skip
- Player Stash Window Increase
- Wide Screen Aspect Ratio Support
- 2 New Weapons
- Further Stabilization, Optimization, and "Anomalies" Fixing
- STALKER Original Trilogy Next-Gen Update
Beta Mod SDK Kit, A-Life Updates, and More
GSC Gameworld has highlighted two key areas for upcoming updates: the Beta Mod SDK Kit and further enhancements to the A-Life system. They plan to launch a closed beta for mod makers to refine the ModKit before its public release. Integration with Mod.io and Steam Workshop is also on the agenda, promising a robust modding ecosystem.
The A-Life system, crucial for the game's NPC AI and simulation, will see continued improvements. Following a significant 110 GB update for the Christmas patch last year, the developers are set to introduce "persistent A-Life improvements" and enhance combat dynamics with "smarter human combat; better cover/flanking use, limited grenades."
Mutants in the game will also receive updates, now capable of eating corpses and reacting more dynamically to threats. Additional features include mutant loot, the option to skip shader compilation, an expanded player stash window, support for wide screen aspect ratios, two new unspecified weapons, and ongoing efforts in stabilization and optimization.
On the side, fans of the original trilogy can look forward to a next-gen update, with more details to be shared as the release approaches.
