Gaming fans will finally get their first look at EA's mysterious Star Wars turn-based strategy title during Star Wars Celebration 2025. The much-anticipated reveal is scheduled for April 19 through an exclusive live panel featuring developers from Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games.

The project was first announced back in 2022 by Bit Reactor, a studio packed with veteran developers from Firaxis Games - the creative minds behind the acclaimed XCOM series. Working in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment (known for the Star Wars Jedi franchise), the team has been quietly developing this strategic adventure set in a galaxy far, far away.

The Challenge of Space Strategy

Details remain scarce about this secretive Star Wars project. Neither the specific timeline within the Star Wars universe nor the complete gameplay mechanics have been revealed. However, given Bit Reactor's XCOM lineage, expectations are running high for a tactical experience infused with Star Wars magic.

While focus shifts to this strategic adventure, Respawn continues developing the third installment of their Star Wars Jedi series. Recent studio developments saw the cancellation of another Star Wars project - a rumored Mandalorian-focused FPS - following EA's restructuring earlier this year. Respawn also quietly shelved an in-development multiplayer FPS project in March.

Beyond games, Star Wars Celebration will showcase early glimpses of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie (slated for May 2026) and provide the first look at Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 for animation fans.
