Fans eager to see the debut episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will need to jump into Fortnite if they wish to view the series ahead of its Disney+ release.
Epic Games announced today how it is expanding its existing Star Wars content, revealing that the first two episodes of the upcoming animated spinoff will debut exclusively on Fortnite. This is part of the studio’s push to deliver more Star Wars experiences during its upcoming Galactic Battle season, which centers around providing Star Wars-themed rewards.
Viewers can catch the premiere of Tales of the Underworld, featuring Asajj Ventress, on the Star Wars Watch Party island starting at 10 a.m. ET on May 2—two days before the show becomes available to Disney+ subscribers. Epic also encourages fans to link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, offering an eligible players a First Order Stormtrooper outfit as a reward. While it's still unclear what other perks linking accounts will provide, Epic hints that additional benefits are on the way.
“Disney and Epic are teaming up to shape the future of interactive entertainment, and this wide-ranging Star Wars partnership offers a preview of the immersive experiences we’re creating,” said Epic Games President Adam Sussman in a statement. “Together, we're reinventing immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world’s most iconic franchises—so keep an eye out for much more soon.”
Both Tales of the Underworld episodes will be available to watch until May 11, after which the Star Wars Watch Party island will go offline. The island will also include a Battle Arena where players can wield lightsabers and battle waves of enemies. Those who watch both episodes will receive an Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Disney’s collaboration with Fortnite goes beyond the upcoming Galactic Battle season. The entertainment giant invested $1.5 billion in Epic in March 2024, laying the groundwork for long-term cooperation with the game developer. This partnership allows both companies to work together across multiple fronts and will bring more Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar outfits to the popular battle royale. Highlights from the next season include Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.
Since its 2017 launch, Fortnite has maintained its dominance in the gaming world. Recent collaborations, including one with Sabrina Carpenter that had players swapping pickaxes for dance moves, have helped the game retain its leading position.
