Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion

Stellar Blade is decking the halls (and Xion) for the holidays with a new event launching December 17th. This update brings festive cheer, new outfits, and a mini-game, but not everyone is celebrating.

New Holiday Outfits and Decorations:

Eve, Adam, and even the Drone get holiday makeovers! Expect vibrant Christmas-themed costumes:

• Santa Dress (Eve)
• Rudolph Pack (Drone)
• I’m No Santa (Adam)

Eve’s festive look can be further customized with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.

Xion itself transforms into a winter wonderland, complete with warm lights and festive decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve’s camp also receive the holiday treatment, enhanced with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away") to create a relaxing atmosphere.

A New Mini-Game:

A new mini-game joins the festivities! Details are scarce, but it involves targeting a holiday-themed drone for special rewards.

Control Your Festive Fun:

The update introduces an option to enable or disable seasonal events (including the Nier:Automata DLC) in the Gameplay settings. Choose from:

• Auto: Automatically enables/disables based on the season.
• Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
• Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.

Note: Changing this setting requires a game restart.

Mixed Reception:

While many fans are excited, particularly embracing the "Christmas Eve" nickname for the protagonist, some question the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content is another point of contention.

This contrasts with many games featuring seasonal content, which often have multiplayer or highly replayable elements to extend the lifespan of cosmetic packs and rewards. In Stellar Blade, players may feel compelled to restart after completing the main story to fully enjoy the seasonal additions.
