Mastering Support in Marvel Rivals: A Tier List of Strategist Characters
Marvel Rivals boasts a diverse roster of iconic characters, but while damage dealers often steal the spotlight, strategic support units are crucial for team survival. This guide ranks the seven currently available support characters, focusing on their healing and buffing capabilities. While Jeff the Land Shark enjoys popularity, he's not the only strategist worth considering.

Best Strategist in Marvel Rivals
Rank | Hero |
---|---|
S | Mantis and Luna Snow |
A | Adam Warlock and Cloak & Dagger |
B | Jeff the Land Shark, Loki, and Rocket Raccoon |
S Tier
Mantis excels as a healer, boosting ally damage by consuming orbs (which regenerate automatically; headshots provide instant orb recovery). While fragile, her ease of use and potent healing make her a top choice for both beginners and experienced players. Her offensive capabilities are limited.
Luna Snow, another S-tier pick, offers a balanced approach. Her primary attack heals allies or damages enemies, while her Ice Art ability enhances both healing and damage output. Her Ultimate, Fate of Both Worlds, provides AoE healing or damage, depending on positioning. Her straightforward mechanics make her accessible to new players, though her damage potential remains secondary to her support role.
A Tier
Adam Warlock's standout ability is his multi-teammate revive. His Ultimate, Quantum Zone, brings back fallen allies with temporary invincibility, even allowing multiple revives of the same character. He also heals with Avatar Life Stream and shares damage with Soul Bond, providing a heal-over-time effect.
Cloak & Dagger offers a unique blend of support and damage. Cloak’s attacks provide healing or damage, with self-healing capabilities. Dagger focuses on damage and applying Vulnerability debuffs. Dark Teleportation boosts ally movement speed and provides invisibility.
B Tier
Jeff the Land Shark, while popular, lacks the robust healing of higher-tier characters, proving less effective in extended battles. His simple kit pales in comparison to Mantis and Warlock. He's a decent entry-level support option, however.
Loki's effectiveness depends heavily on player skill and strategic positioning. He heals allies and summons decoys, but careful illusion placement is crucial to avoid environmental limitations. His Ultimate allows shapeshifting into any hero for 15 seconds, utilizing their abilities.
Rocket Raccoon prioritizes utility and damage over pure healing. Like Warlock, he can revive allies with his Respawn Machine, but his focus leans towards offensive capabilities, making him more of a hybrid DPS. His small size makes him a vulnerable target.
Ultimately, character selection should prioritize enjoyment. This tier list serves as a guide, but personal preference plays a significant role in determining the best support unit for your playstyle.
