Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has introduced Absolum—a thrilling fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite elements. Set in the enchanting yet troubled world of Talamh, the game unfolds after a devastating magical cataclysm that has left its inhabitants wary of magic. The tyrannical ruler, King-Sun Azra, manipulates these fears to oppress mages through his sinister Crimson Order. However, hope emerges as a valiant group of heroes—comprising the necromancer Galandra, the rebel gnome Karl, the mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr—rise to challenge his rule.
Players diving into Absolum can anticipate an adrenaline-pumping experience, featuring upgradable abilities, potent combos, and enchanting spells. The game supports both solo adventures and cooperative play, allowing players to synergize their attacks and execute devastating combinations together.
The auditory experience of Absolum is elevated by the work of acclaimed composers: Gareth Coker, renowned for his contributions to Ori and Halo Infinite; Yuka Kitamura, celebrated for her work on Dark Souls and Elden Ring; and Mick Gordon, the genius behind the soundtracks of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
Absolum is slated for release in 2025, and will be available on PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, promising an immersive gaming experience across multiple platforms.
