DC's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow Begins Filming; First Look at Milly Alcock Revealed
Production has officially commenced on DC's upcoming film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, starring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El. DC Studios head James Gunn shared the news on Bluesky, along with a photo of Alcock in her director's chair – offering a first glimpse at the actress in character.

Gunn expressed his excitement, highlighting director Craig Gillespie (known for Cruella and I, Tonya) and Alcock's talent. The film's adaptation is heavily based on Tom King, Bilquis Evely, and Ana Norgueira's graphic novel of the same name. This standalone story follows Ruthye Marye Knoll, an alien girl seeking Supergirl's aid in avenging her father's murder at the hands of the villain Krem. The graphic novel was a 2022 Eisner Award nominee for "Best Limited Series."
The cast also includes Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem, Eve Ridley as Ruthye, David Krumholtz as Zor-El (Supergirl's father), Emily Beecham as Supergirl's mother, and Jason Momoa, reprising his role as Lobo within the rebooted DC universe.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow marks the second film in the newly established DC Universe, following James Gunn's Superman movie, slated for release this summer. Other projects in development include The Batman Part II (its connection to Gunn's universe remains unclear) and a reported Clayface film from Mike Flanagan.
