Neutronized, the studio behind hits like Shovel Pirate, Slime Labs 3, Super Cat Tales, and Yokai Dungeon: Monster Games, has released a new free-to-play platformer: Shadow Trick. This game retains Neutronized's signature style: short, fun, cute, and easy to pick up. Its 16-bit pixel art gives it a distinct retro feel.
Gameplay: Shadow Manipulation
In Shadow Trick, players control a wizard capable of transforming into a shadow. This core mechanic is used to solve puzzles, avoid hazards, and outsmart enemies. Switching between physical and shadow forms is key to uncovering secrets and progressing through the game's 24 levels.
Each level contains three moon crystals; collecting all 72 crystals unlocks the game's true ending. This requires skillful boss battles, as taking damage prevents crystal acquisition. Bosses present unique challenges, such as the red ghost's ability to seemingly vanish and reappear.
