Partner/Indie World Showcase: A Bounty of Announcements
Nintendo's strategic pairing of smaller Directs proved effective, delivering a wave of announcements. Highlights include surprise game launches (detailed below), Capcom Fighting Collection 2, the Suikoden I & II remasters, Yakuza Kiwami, Tetris Forever, MySims, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, new Atelier and Rune Factory titles, and much more. I strongly recommend watching the full video for a comprehensive overview.
Select New Releases
Castlevania Dominus Collection ($24.99)
A fantastic surprise from the Direct, this third Castlevania compilation features the three Nintendo DS entries: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. It also includes the infamous arcade game, Haunted Castle, alongside an M2-developed remake that significantly improves upon the original. M2's meticulous emulation and comprehensive features make this an exceptional value.
Pizza Tower ($19.99)
This Wario Land-inspired platformer sprints onto the Switch. Conquer five massive floors of the Pizza Tower to save your restaurant. Fans of Wario's handheld adventures will find this irresistible, but even casual platforming enthusiasts should give it a try. A review is pending.
Goat Simulator 3 ($29.99)
Another surprise release! It's Goat Simulator 3. You know the drill. Performance on the Switch is uncertain, as more powerful systems have experienced some challenges. Proceed with caution, but even potential performance issues might add to the game's inherent chaotic charm. Silly goats, silly antics, open-world mayhem – your Switch might just survive!
Peglin ($19.99)
EA's missed opportunity to bring PopCap games to Switch is a shame, but Peglin fills that Peggle-shaped void perfectly. This mobile hit shines on Switch, blending Peggle mechanics with turn-based RPG roguelite elements. A review is coming soon.
Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story ($20.00)
Kairosoft's familiar shop simulation formula gets a Doraemon makeover. The popular manga and anime characters are integrated well, with even some cameos from the creator's other works. A charming and enjoyable addition to the genre.
Pico Park 2 ($8.99)
More Pico Park for existing fans. Up to eight players can join in locally or online. Cooperative puzzle-solving is the core gameplay, and more players enhance the experience. A solid sequel, but unlikely to attract newcomers.
Kamitsubaki City Ensemble ($3.99)
An affordable rhythm game featuring Kamitsubaki Studio's music. Simple, yet enjoyable for its price point.
SokoPenguin ($4.99)
A classic Sokoban-style puzzle game with a penguin twist. One hundred levels await.
Q2 Humanity ($6.80)
Over three hundred quirky physics-based puzzles. Utilize your character's abilities and drawing mechanics to solve problems. Local and online multiplayer for up to four players.
