Mastering Tarot Cards in Phasmophobia: A Risk-Reward Guide
Tarot Cards in Phasmophobia present a high-risk, high-reward proposition during ghost investigations. This guide details their usage.
Strategic Placement is Key: Due to the potential for negative outcomes (like drawing the Death card), utilize Tarot Cards in a safe zone – near a hiding spot or the entrance – to facilitate a quick escape if necessary.
Understanding the Mechanics: Each card triggers an immediate effect. However, there's a chance of drawing "The Fool," resulting in no effect. You can draw up to 10 cards without sanity loss, and duplicates yield the same effect.
The Tarot Deck: Ten unique cards exist within the deck:
Tarot Card | Effect | Draw Chance |
---|---|---|
The Tower | Doubles ghost activity for 20 seconds | 20% |
The Wheel of Fortune | ±25% sanity (green/red burn) | 20% |
The Hermit | Confines the ghost to its favorite room (1 minute); doesn't affect hunts or events. | 10% |
The Sun | Full sanity restoration | 5% |
The Moon | Complete sanity drain | 5% |
The Fool | Mimics another card, then nullifies; no effect. | 17% |
The Devil | Triggers a ghost event near the closest player. | 10% |
Death | Triggers an extended Cursed Hunt (20 seconds longer). | 10% |
The High Priestess | Instant revival of a fallen teammate | 2% |
The Hanged Man | Instant player death | 1% |
Cursed Possessions in Phasmophobia: An Overview
Cursed Possessions (or "Cursed Objects") are high-risk, high-reward items randomly spawning on maps, offering gameplay manipulation but posing significant threats. Their use is entirely optional. Only one spawns per contract (unless adjusted in Custom settings), always in a fixed location. Seven exist in total: Haunted Mirror, Voodoo Doll, Music Box, Tarot Cards, Ouija Board, Monkey Paw, and Summoning Circle.
