TMNT: The Last Ronin II - Re-Evolution #5, written by Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz, with art by Ben Bishop, Isaac Escorza, and Esau Escorza, promises a climactic conclusion. IDW's official description teases an all-out war on the streets of New York, leaving the fate of Casey, April, Odyn, Yi, Moja, and Uno hanging in the balance.

"We wanted to update the characters," Eastman shared with IGN in 2024. "There are two male, two female Turtle characters, and Tom and I aimed to capture the thoughts, speech, and actions of teenagers. They have diverse personalities, much like the originals. They love their family, but they don't always like each other. They argue, disagree, but their family bond always unites them—that's the core of everything we do with the Turtles."
