SPOILER WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Yasuke’s personal story, as well as the involvement of the Templar in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Recommended Videos After Yasuke hears rumors of “worse men” from his past being active in Japan, the Yasuke’s Past quests will require players to complete the Templar Hunt Objective Board. Here’s how and where to find every Templar target in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, starting with Kimura Kei.
How to Find the Templar Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Your first clue about Kimura Kei's whereabouts comes from a ronin contact in Kii. You can locate him in central Nakahechi Route at the inn in Takahara Village. If you're having trouble finding him, consider using Scouts to pinpoint his exact location. The ronin you're looking for will be inside a building marked by green flags, right next to a cherry blossom tree. He'll be dressed in Oda Clan attire. Engage him in conversation, and he will direct you to a recruiter named Kumabe Ujiie.
Where to Find Kumabe Ujiie
Head to northern Kii to find Kumabe Ujiie. He's at a cemetery in Koyasan, northeast of the Kongobuji Temple. You'll see him walking with his ronin escort, but there's no need to engage them. Simply approach Kumabe Ujiie and choose the “I seek guidance” dialogue option. Follow him, and he will lead you to Kimura Kei's location.
How and Where to Assassinate Kimura Kei
Kimura Kei's Training Grounds are situated in the southwest portion of Kii, just north of the shore, roughly halfway between Sazae Oni Shores and Nakahechi Route. Upon arrival, follow the other students to reach Kimura Kei. He will recognize Yasuke and order his students to attack.
Yasuke will find himself surrounded by ronin. After defeating them, more enemies will come at you as you advance towards Kimura Kei. Equip your highest level armor and weapons for this challenge. Exploding red barrels along the path can be used to your advantage; shoot them with your bow or teppo to take out groups of enemies efficiently.
The confrontation with Kimura Kei triggers a boss fight, and stealth assassination is not an option. Ensure you have armor with an engraving that allows you to parry unblockable attacks, as he uses them frequently. This battle unfolds in multiple phases.
In the first phase, Kimura Kei wields a standard Katana. Parry his attacks to make him vulnerable, then use posture attacks and abilities to chip away at his armor. As his armor nears breaking, the second phase begins with him using a Long Katana alongside his standard one. He will unleash more unblockable attacks, so focus on dodging and striking when safe.
Once Kimura Kei's health drops to half, the fight moves outdoors. Here, his unblockable attacks become even more potent. Dodge frequently and keep your distance when necessary. Using a bow or teppo from a distance can be very effective.
Every Reward for Killing Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Defeating Kimura Kei grants you 3,000 XP, some Mon, and the Templar-themed Destroyer Samurai Armor and Helmet. The armor features an engraving that reduces the impact of enemy attacks, while the helmet boosts Yasuke's damage by 10% for every 10% of health missing.
How to Find the Silver Queen in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Once all the Shinbakufu have been defeated, the Silver Queen will appear on the Templar Board, aiding the Portuguese in their pillaging of Tamba. Similar to Kimura Kei, you'll need to speak with specific contacts before reaching her. Start with the spy.
Where to Find and Talk to The Spy
Locate the Spy in Southeast Tamba within the Silver Lands. Inside the investigation area, you'll find him sitting on a rug under a small structure next to a wooden cart and crates. Speak to him, and he will disclose the Silver Queen's location.
Where to Meet the Silver Queen
Travel to the town of Tada, just Northeast of the Tada Kakurega, to find the Silver Queen. She'll be conversing with Portuguese soldiers. Approach and talk to her, then follow her to her house for tea. You'll awaken in the Tada Silver Mine.
How to Escape from Tada Silver Mine
After waking up from the drugged tea, you'll find yourself in a locked room within the Tada Silver Mine. Break through the door by sprinting into it. After dealing with the guards who notice you, you can either fight or sneak your way out. Sneaking is the quickest and safest option. Head southwest out of the mine, eliminating any enemies in your path.
How to Locate Akechi Mitsuyoshi
To rescue the Silver Queen's brother, Akechi Mitsuyoshi, head north towards Kameyama Castle. If you need to restock on Ammo or Rations, there's a Kakurega just north of Senneji Temple as you enter Kameyama.
Use Pathfinder to navigate through Kameyama Castle, taking out guards as needed. Inside the living quarters, you'll find a bleeding servant who will give you a key to the castle’s Tenshu.
How to Free Akechi Mitsuyoshi and Retrieve His Katana
With the key in hand, enter the main castle building beneath the Viewpoint and unlock the marked door to free Akechi Mitsuyoshi. Follow him as he escapes, using your bow or teppo to eliminate threats from a distance. Once he's safe, return to the castle to retrieve his Katana from Baltazar after defeating him and his surrounding soldiers. Focus on using abilities and posture attacks to break Baltazar’s guard and deal significant damage.
After defeating Baltazar and reclaiming Akechi Mitsuyoshi’s Katana, head north to Atago Shrine. Converse with Akechi Mitsuyoshi and follow him to the Shrine to receive the next target’s location.
How to Find and Assassinate Nuno Caro
Yasuke's final target, Nuno Caro, is preparing to leave Japan. You'll find him at Takeda Castle in Western Tamba, perched high atop a mountain at the end of a winding road. Use Pathfinder to navigate the most direct route to the castle.
Takeda Castle is heavily guarded with enemies and alarm bells. As stealth isn't a strong option for Yasuke, prioritize disabling these alarms with your bow or teppo. As you ascend, you'll reach a set of double doors. Interact with them to initiate the encounter with Nuno Caro.
Eliminate Nuno Caro's men as you ascend the castle. Nuno Caro awaits at the very top, triggering a boss fight. He fights similarly to his soldiers, using a sword and pistol. His sword attack consists of up to four swipes, which you can block or parry. Watch for his pistol glowing red, signaling an attack you must dodge. Use abilities to inflict high damage, making him vulnerable for follow-up attacks. Repeat this cycle until Nuno Caro is defeated, completing the Templar Hunt Objective Board.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available from March 20th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
