Tomb Raider's iconic heroine, Lara Croft, is officially joining the Dead by Daylight roster! Behaviour Interactive has confirmed the long-rumored addition, bringing one of gaming's most beloved adventurers to the Entity's Realm. This exciting news follows the recent additions of Vecna (from Stranger Things), Chucky, and Alan Wake.
Dead by Daylight players can expect Lara Croft, modeled after the 2013 reboot trilogy, to arrive on all platforms July 16th. PC players on Steam will get a head start with early access to the public test build. Behaviour Interactive has yet to release a trailer showcasing her in-game abilities and perks, making the PC test build a highly anticipated sneak peek. The development team describes Lara as "the ultimate survivor," a fitting title given her history of daring escapes.
Beyond Lara Croft's arrival, Behaviour Interactive's 8th-anniversary livestream revealed several other surprises: a thrilling new 2v8 mode, the addition of Frank Stone (from Supermassive Games' The Quarry), and a forthcoming Castlevania chapter.
Meanwhile, Lara Croft's legacy continues to expand beyond Dead by Daylight. Aspyr recently released a remastered collection of the original Tomb Raider trilogy, and Tomb Raider: Legend received a PS5 port (though reception has been mixed). Furthermore, a new animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, starring Hayley Atwell as Lara's voice, is slated for October 2024.
