Saber Interactive's recent FAQ clarifies that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, launching September 9th, will be free of DRM. While DRM is frequently used to combat piracy, it's also known to sometimes negatively impact game performance.
The absence of DRM doesn't mean a lack of security measures. The PC version will utilize Easy Anti-Cheat software at launch. While Easy Anti-Cheat has faced scrutiny in the past, its inclusion aims to maintain fair play.
Currently, official mod support isn't planned. However, the game will offer a robust experience with a PvP arena, horde mode, and a comprehensive photo mode. Furthermore, Saber Interactive assures players that all gameplay content is included in the base game, with microtransactions limited to purely cosmetic items and no paid DLC planned.
