SoMoGa Inc. has unleashed a revitalized version of Vay on Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG returns with enhanced graphics, a modernized user interface, and controller support.
Originally released in Japan in 1993 for the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized by Working Designs), Vay received an iOS re-release in 2008 courtesy of SoMoGa. This new iteration builds upon that legacy.
What's New in the Revamped Vay?
The updated Vay boasts over 100 enemies, a dozen formidable bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A standout feature is the adjustable difficulty levels, catering to various player preferences.
Convenience is enhanced with an auto-save function and Bluetooth controller support for flexible gameplay. Character progression includes acquiring new equipment, learning spells, and utilizing an AI system for autonomous combat.
The Story Unveiled:
Set in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennia-long interstellar war, Vay's narrative unfolds on a technologically underdeveloped planet after a catastrophic machine crash-lands. This weapon of mass destruction, malfunctioning and bent on annihilation, leaves a trail of devastation.
Players embark on a quest to rescue their abducted wife, a mission that could potentially save the world. The idyllic wedding day turns into a nightmare with the bride's kidnapping, propelling the protagonist on an epic journey to confront the destructive war machines.
Vay's captivating story blends classic JRPG elements (experience and gold acquisition through random encounters) with modern enhancements. Approximately ten minutes of animated cutscenes are included, featuring both English and Japanese audio options.
Download the premium version of the revamped Vay from the Google Play Store for $5.99. For more gaming news, check out our other articles, such as "Unlock Love And Goodies With The Loving Reveries Update In Tears Of Themis."
