Conjuring Film Series: Viewing Order Guide

Author : Layla Update:Oct 26,2025

Filmmaker James Wan already boasts two massively successful horror franchises with Saw and Insidious (both co-created with Leigh Whannell). But his creative genius didn't stop there—he went on to launch The Conjuring universe, which has spawned nine films since its 2013 debut, collectively grossing over $2 billion worldwide.

Originally inspired by the real-life paranormal investigations of Ed and Lorraine Warren in the 1970s, The Conjuring universe has expanded into a sprawling franchise. While continuing the Warrens' supernatural exploits, it also explores terrifying backstories through prequels set decades before their involvement. As we approach the fourth and final Conjuring installment, now's the perfect time to revisit the entire timeline.

Whether you prefer watching in release order or chronological sequence—starting with 1950s Romania in The Nun—we've got you covered with both viewing guides below.
