Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. Previously, elements primarily offered character buffs and enemy resistance modifications. Now, with the introduction of Elemental Effects, direct interactions and strategic team compositions are becoming more prominent. This guide details the changes and how to utilize Elemental Effects effectively.

Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs:

While elements have always been present, Version 2.0 introduces specific status effects applied by attacks. These effects, many functioning as damage over time (DoT), can be mitigated by dodging, removing stacks. Here's a breakdown:

Havoc Bane	Stacks up to 2; at 2 stacks, all stacks are removed, dealing Havoc DMG and reapplying to nearby characters.
Glacio Chafe	Reduces movement speed based on stack count; at 10 stacks, freezes the resonator (players can "Struggle" to speed up thawing).
Spectro Frazzle	Stacks reduce over time, dealing Spectro DMG; more stacks = more DMG.
Fusion Burst	Stacks up to 10; at 10 stacks, explodes, dealing significant Fusion DMG.
Aero Erosion	Deals Aero DMG periodically; stacks do not deplete to deal DMG. More stacks = more DMG.
