The Peak Hunters application offers an ever-expanding database of peaks across the Czech Republic and neighboring countries. With GPS technology in your mobile device, you can log your ascent to the summit and earn points based on the mountain's altitude and the difficulty of the climb. You can enhance each peak's entry with your own ratings and photos. The application displays all peaks on a clear map, allowing you to filter them by country, mountain range, or proximity to your current location. To ensure usability in remote areas, you can download offline map data, which is essential when cell signals are weak in mountainous regions. These maps utilize OpenStreetMaps and highlight tourist routes. If you encounter a peak not listed or plan to visit a new hill, simply long-press on the map to add it to the database. Once approved, the peak becomes visible to all users, and you'll receive bonus points for the contribution. Peak Hunters also features a growing collection of statistics and collectible badges. Keep the badges you earn, and receive special recognition for rare ones. For each peak, you can access the current weather forecast, aiding in trip planning with up to 48 hours of advance information. Another handy feature is the ability to identify mountain tops by simply pointing your phone at them, with the correct distance filter applied. You can use the app in an anonymous mode. In incognito mode, functionality remains the same, but you cannot transfer your profile to other devices, log out, or recover your profile if your device is lost or data is corrupted. We recommend testing the app in incognito mode before switching to a registered profile. The application is free of ads and fees, born from a traveler's passion for peak collecting with offline map capabilities. Users can now manually switch between dark and light modes, with this setting adjustable on the user profile screen. If you spot any errors, miss features, or have other feedback, you can reach out directly via the in-app form. We value all feedback. Note that there is no accompanying website; the application stands alone and fully functional without one.
