Tripwire Interactive has announced a significant delay for Killing Floor 3, pushing the release date further into 2025. This decision comes just three weeks before the originally planned March 25th launch, following feedback from a closed beta test.

Disappointing Beta Leads to Delay

In a March 7th, 2025 Bluesky post, Tripwire acknowledged the beta test fell short of expectations. The statement emphasized a commitment to delivering a game that both innovates and upholds the core Killing Floor experience. Specific areas cited for improvement include performance, stability, user interface/experience (UI/UX), lighting, and weapon feel.

Player feedback on social media was overwhelmingly negative, with criticisms ranging from "insanely clunky and clumsy" gameplay to an "unpolished, glitch-ridden" experience. Concerns were also raised about a perceived shift away from the series' horror roots towards a more futuristic sci-fi aesthetic, and the character/class lock in the beta. One Reddit user, Captain_Pugman, poignantly questioned whether the developers had forgotten what made Killing Floor unique.

Tripwire concluded their announcement with a promise to deliver a more polished product, assuring fans they'll be updated as soon as more details are available.

Pre-Order Refunds

Tripwire's Senior Community Manager, Yoshiro, outlined the pre-order refund process. Automatic cancellations and refunds will be issued for PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic Games Store pre-orders. US PlayStation users will have the option to retain their pre-order, otherwise it will automatically be cancelled and refunded. Steam pre-orders will require manual refunds through Steam support. Refunds for other third-party platforms will be subject to their individual policies.
