"Tribe Nine Cancelled Just Three Months Post-Launch"

Author : Scarlett Update:Jun 20,2025

It’s not every day that news of a game shutdown catches the entire gaming community off guard, but the recent announcement regarding *Tribe Nine* has certainly done just that. According to official statements, the servers for *Tribe Nine* will officially shut down on **November 27th**, and any planned updates—including the latest one—have now been cancelled indefinitely.

This marks a bitter end for a game that, just a few months ago, celebrated over ten million downloads. Developed by Akatsuki Games and based on the popular anime series, *Tribe Nine* combined action RPG gameplay with unique Xtreme Baseball boss battles—a nod to fans of the franchise. Despite its promising start and recognizable art direction by Danganronpa veteran Rui Komatsuzaki, the game is now set to be discontinued far earlier than many had anticipated.

Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated case. In recent years, we’ve seen a growing trend of mobile titles being pulled from service within their first year. For players who invest time—and sometimes money—into these games, it can feel disheartening to constantly face the looming threat of an early shutdown.

What Happens Next?

As part of the shutdown process, all future in-game purchases have been halted. Players who purchased Enigma Entities (likely premium content or items) will receive refunds as part of the closure protocol. This at least offers some consolation to those who spent real money in anticipation of long-term support.

Tribeless

A Risky Future for Akatsuki Games

Considering that Rui Komatsuzaki's artistic vision was well-received in other projects like *Hundred Line – Last Defence Academy*, there seems to be no obvious reason why *Tribe Nine* would be discontinued so soon after launch. However, abruptly ending the game could damage the developer's reputation, especially among loyal players who may now think twice before investing in future Akatsuki releases.

With another anime-based mobile title, *[ttpp], The Game*, currently in development, the studio might still have a chance to win back trust. But if players perceive a pattern of premature cancellations, they may hesitate to engage with new titles altogether.

For current fans of *Tribe Nine*, it’s undoubtedly a disappointing turn of events. But the world of mobile gaming is vast and ever-evolving.
