PEAK Developers Now Looking Into Possible Updates
2 Million Copies Sold in 9 Days Might Have Changed Their Mind
The viral co-op climbing game PEAK has achieved a remarkable milestone, selling two million copies in nine days. Consequently, its developers are exploring possibilities for new updates. In a Steam blog post dated June 25, Landcrab—the collaborative effort between Aggro Crab and Landfall—announced their intention to support the title with fresh content additions.
Initially, the development team stated in the game’s FAQs that they had no immediate plans to expand PEAK, as both studios were occupied with other projects. However, following this overwhelming reception, they are now analyzing potential updates as a gesture of gratitude toward fans who have showered the game with love and support.
While details remain scarce regarding the volume of content Landcrab intends to add, they confirmed that new localization options are arriving soon. The team also noted their willingness to consider community suggestions, though not all requests can be fulfilled. "Possible updates might range from quality of life features to new content and all the funny additions that we wished to make real from the start," Landcrab stated.
Prioritizing Bug Fixing and Stability
Although new content is on the horizon, Landcrab emphasized that their current focus remains on maintaining a stable, bug-free experience. They explained, "We're still prioritizing bug fixes and stability first so don't expect a huge content update right away."
Recent reports have highlighted issues such as disconnections, performance optimization, audio glitches, and crashes. Landcrab is addressing these problems immediately but has asked for fans' patience given their status as a small development team.
Furthermore, the studio is working on launching official merchandise for PEAK. "This was another thing we didn't really expect to do, but the excitement from everyone in the community has got us looking at some pretty great things... Stay tuned!" they shared.
PEAK’s breakout success is particularly impressive given that it originated from a month-long game jam in Korea. Fan support has motivated the developers to refine the experience, and upcoming content additions will likely extend the game's lifespan significantly.
At Game8, we awarded PEAK a score of 76 out of 100, praising its tight mechanics, clever co-op design, and challenging biomes. Despite occasional bugs and server hiccups, the game compensates with charm and difficulty at an affordable price. To read our full review, check out the article below!
