Valve's back from the holiday break, and the first Deadlock patch of 2025 is a surprisingly small one. Following the announcement of a shift away from bi-weekly updates, many anticipated a substantial patch, but this initial update focuses on minor adjustments.
The changes primarily affect Yamato, with nerfs to damage scaling and Shadow Transformation's attack speed bonus at level one. Further tweaks include weakening Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot, alongside a minor rework of Alchemical Fire.

A larger, more comprehensive patch is anticipated, though the timing remains uncertain. Predicting the release date is currently impossible.
It's noteworthy that Deadlock's player count has recently declined, possibly due to the popularity of Marvel Rivals. However, a consistent 7,000–19,000 concurrent players is respectable for a game still in deep beta. Remember, Valve hasn't yet revealed release plans or monetization details.
