The Divinity saga is tied to the enigmatic TGA 2025 trophy, though Larian Studios has dismissed rumors of an Original Sin 3. Discover how the series connects to the statue and what Larian Studios says about sequel rumors below.
Divinity New Title Speculations
Linked To TGA 2025 Statue
The Divinity franchise is currently associated with the mysterious The Game Awards 2025 (TGA) trophy following the appearance of trademark images online. According to filings on the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) website, three new logos for the series were registered, one of which closely mirrored the design of the TGA 2025 statue.
Fans quickly theorized that the "regal inspiring thickness" figure teased by TGA organizer Geoff Keighley is connected to the Divinity universe. It remains plausible that the trophy represents a new entry in the franchise, particularly given recent activity surrounding Original Sin II, including its "PS5 Pro Enhanced" designation and age ratings for current-generation consoles.
Furthermore, the newly trademarked Divinity logo differs significantly from previous iterations, leading enthusiasts to believe the upcoming title might be an entirely new project rather than a re-release. Many are speculating that this could serve as a sequel to the Original Sin series.
Currently No Plans For Divinity: Original Sin 3
Despite numerous community theories and connections, Larian Studios Director of Publishing Michael Douse has quelled rumors regarding an Original Sin 3. Responding to a fan on Twitter (X) who inquired about the release date for the sequel, Douse confirmed that "There aren't currently any plans for a new Divinity Original Sin 3."
This aligns with previous remarks from Larian Studios Founder Swen Vicke regarding a potential follow-up to the Original Sin series. In a 2024 interview with IGN, he neither confirmed nor denied that the next installment would be titled Original Sin 3, noting only that it would be "different than what you think it is," while remaining "still familiar."
Even if an Original Sin 3 is not in development, fans continue to speculate that a new Divinity game may be on the horizon. Aside from the prequel series, the franchise includes five mainline titles and expansions: Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity, Divinity II: Ego Draconis, Divinity II: Flames of Vengeance, and Divinity: Dragon Commander.
This possibility is further supported by Vicke’s earlier statement that the studio is moving on from the Baldur’s Gate series, creating an opportunity to return to the Divinity universe.
Nevertheless, recent trademarks and cryptic teasers have fueled speculation that a major announcement regarding the Divinity series will be made at TGA 2025, making the awards show essential viewing for franchise fans. For more details on The Game Awards 2025, please refer to our article below.
