The iBuypower Slate RTX 5070 Gaming PC Drops Below $1,000 for the First Time Ever for Black Friday

Looking to keep your next PC upgrade under $1,000? This could be the most powerful gaming PC that stays within that budget. For Black Friday, Walmart is offering the iBuypower Slate RTX 5070 gaming PC for just $999 with free shipping. That’s a $100 drop from the previous lowest price I saw during October’s Prime Day—and possibly the first time an RTX 5070 prebuilt has been priced below $1,000. The RTX 5070 is an outstanding option for 1080p or 1440p gaming, especially in titles that support DLSS 4.

The iBuypower Slate gaming PC features an Intel Core i5-14400F processor, GeForce RTX 5070 graphics, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD. The Intel Core i5-14400F is a 14th-gen Raptor Lake Refresh CPU with a max turbo frequency of 4.7GHz and 10 cores. It delivers strong performance for both gaming and productivity tasks, runs cooler than Core i7 or i9 chips, and is well-cooled by the included 120mm tower heatsink and fan.

The GeForce RTX 5070 GPU is an excellent choice for 1080p or 1440p gaming

Compared to last-gen GPUs, the RTX 5070 offers a modest performance boost over the RTX 4070 Super—a GPU that was and remains excellent. The frame rate gains are significantly higher in games that support DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation. At this price, most prebuilt gaming PCs come with an RTX 5060 or RTX 5060 Ti; the RTX 5070 is noticeably more powerful. It’s the best GPU for 1080p or 1440p gaming without overspending, and it can also handle less demanding games at 4K resolution. The next step up—the RTX 5070 Ti—is much pricier and better suited for gamers chasing high frame rates at 1440p or intensive 4K play. See our GeForce RTX 5070 review for hands-on impressions and benchmark results.
