In his New Year's message, Final Fantasy 14's producer and director, Naoki Yoshida, teased the upcoming releases of Patches 7.2 and 7.3 in 2025, along with smaller content updates. Yoshida also dropped a cryptic hint about the future direction of the Dawntrail storyline, sparking lively discussions among fans about what lies ahead for their favorite characters.

Even as Final Fantasy 14 navigates the lull between major content updates, the Free Login Campaign offers a perfect opportunity for players to reconnect with the world of Eorzea. Square Enix launched the campaign on January 9 at 3:00 AM Eastern, and it will wrap up on February 6 at 9:59 AM Eastern. Once players log in through the game's launcher on any platform, the 96-hour free play timer begins. Eligibility requires players to have previously purchased and registered Final Fantasy 14 with their Square Enix account, with the account being inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign's start.
