How to Use Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

Author : Chloe Update:Mar 21,2025

Conquering the most elusive ghosts in Phasmophobia often requires utilizing special Cursed Possessions—powerful but risky tools that offer significant rewards. The Haunted Mirror is a prime example, offering a substantial advantage with manageable risk. This guide explains how to effectively use it.

How to Use the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is arguably the safest Cursed Object in Phasmophobia, its benefits significantly outweighing the potential dangers. Its function remains consistent across game updates, making it a highly recommended item if you encounter it.

The mirror reveals the ghost's current favorite room or area, providing a panoramic view. This significantly speeds up the investigation, allowing you to strategically position your equipment before the situation becomes perilous. Knowing the ghost's location allows for more efficient evidence gathering and safer gameplay.

You'll typically find the Haunted Mirror hanging on a wall (like in 6 Tanglewood Drive) or on the floor in its predetermined location. Cursed Objects always spawn in the same spot on each map; only the specific Cursed Object is randomized.

To use it, pick up the mirror and interact with it using the appropriate button (mouse or controller). Its reflection will display the ghost's favored room. On Professional difficulty and above, remember that the ghost might relocate after a period of time.

However, prolonged viewing drains your sanity. Holding it for the entire duration will shatter the mirror, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your location. Use it wisely when your sanity is high and be sure to understand what the reflection shows you.

What are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?

Cursed Possessions (often called "Cursed Objects") are unique items that randomly appear on any map (though this can depend on difficulty and Challenge Mode).

Unlike standard equipment, which helps locate and gather evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts to manipulate the ghost, but at a much higher risk to your character.

Some Cursed Objects are safer than others. The choice of whether or not to use them is yours and your team's. There's no penalty for ignoring them. Only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).

Seven Cursed Objects exist:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw

This concludes our guide on using the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia. For more Phasmophobia guides and news, including the Phasmophobia 2025 Roadmap & Preview, visit The Escapist.
