Hi-Fi Rush creator Tango Gameworks has launched its redesigned website while revealing development on a secret action title.
The refreshed site - featuring new branding and recruitment listings for undisclosed projects - states Tango's mission is to "develop fresh gaming experiences and expand intellectual properties" as a "Tokyo-based independent studio" under Krafton's ownership.
Earlier in May 2024, Microsoft shocked the industry by shuttering multiple Bethesda studios, including Tango Gameworks and Arkane Austin. The decision sparked widespread backlash, particularly after Xbox executive Aaron Greenberg had praised Hi-Fi Rush as exceeding "all key performance metrics and player expectations."
PUBG parent company Krafton rescued Tango Gameworks and acquired the Hi-Fi Rush IP from Microsoft in August 2024, preventing the studio's closure. In an official statement, Krafton confirmed plans to "partner with Xbox and ZeniMax to facilitate a seamless transition, enabling Tango's skilled team to continue expanding the Hi-Fi Rush universe while pursuing new creative ventures.""After this period of uncertainty, Tango Gameworks returns with renewed vision," declares the studio's revamped website. "Our new platform offers fans and prospective team members insight into our creative process - showcasing our design philosophy through developer spotlights and studio features."
"Joining Krafton marks an exciting new phase for Tango," the statement continues. "We remain committed to crafting original IPs that connect with global audiences while establishing our unique voice within the industry."
The studio emphasizes its workshop-style approach focused on delivering games with "that distinctive handmade quality woven into every experience."
While details remain scarce, a recent job posting confirms the team is "not yet prepared to disclose specifics" beyond recruiting for "an unannounced action title in early development." Available roles span multiple disciplines, with the studio encouraging applicants who worked on acclaimed titles like Hi-Fi Rush.
Machine-translated listings for both senior designer and cutscene director positions request Unreal Engine 5 experience with 3D action games. Could this signal development on Hi-Fi Rush 2? For now, the studio keeps fans guessing.
