While many fans believed Patch 7 would be the last major update for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios has confirmed another substantial update set for release in 2025. This update promises to enhance the gaming experience with features like crossplay support and a photo mode, alongside the introduction of 12 new subclasses, each bringing unique mechanics to the game.
Details about four of these subclasses have already been shared, and now we're diving into the remaining ones:
Oath of the Crown Paladin: This subclass is dedicated to upholding justice and order, prioritizing the welfare of society. The Oath of the Crown Paladin features the Divine Devotion ability, which not only absorbs incoming damage directed at allies but also restores their health, making it a vital asset in any team.
Arcane Archer: Combining martial prowess with arcane magic, the Arcane Archer uses enchanted arrows that can blind, weaken, or even temporarily exile enemies to the Feywild. A unique feature allows the Arcane Archer to redirect a missed arrow to another target, ensuring no shot is wasted.
Drunken Master Monk: This subclass incorporates alcohol into its fighting techniques, using it to disorient foes while enhancing the monk's own abilities. The signature move intoxicates enemies, and with the use of Instant Sobriety, the monk can deal both physical and mental damage to an intoxicated target.
Swarmkeeper Ranger: Harnessing the power of nature, the Swarmkeeper Ranger forms alliances with swarms of creatures that provide both protection and tactical advantages. These swarms can shield the ranger from harm and assist with teleportation. In combat, the ranger can deploy three distinct types of swarms: electric jellyfish clusters that shock enemies, blinding moth clouds that obscure vision, and stinging bee legions that can knock back opponents failing a strength check by 4.5 meters.
This upcoming update is poised to significantly expand the gameplay options available to players, offering new strategies and deepening the immersive experience of Baldur's Gate 3.
