LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has announced ambitious plans to significantly expand the company's digital footprint, venturing into the world of video game development. This expansion will involve both independently created titles and strategic partnerships. Christiansen stated, “We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing.”
This strategic move doesn't signal an end to LEGO's licensing agreements with third-party developers. Recent reports indicate TT Games, renowned for its LEGO-themed game franchises, is currently developing a new title, likely based on a Warner Bros. property.

LEGO's existing gaming presence is substantial, most notably its successful collaboration with Epic Games. Last year's Fortnite LEGO-themed mode proved immensely popular, highlighting the brand's appeal within the gaming community.
The company also boasts a long-standing relationship with TT Games, resulting in a celebrated series of adventure games spanning two decades. While new releases from TT Games have been less frequent recently, speculation points towards a new LEGO Harry Potter game, potentially inspired by the commercial triumph of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Further demonstrating LEGO's commitment to the gaming industry is its partnership with 2K Games, which led to the release of the successful racing game, LEGO 2K Drive, last year. This showcases the brand's adaptability and diverse approach to game development.
