If you're a fan of *League of Legends*, you'll be excited to know that a new minigame, Demon's Hand, is now available in the client until the end of April. If you've played *Balatro*, you'll find the gameplay mechanics quite familiar as you dive into this engaging card game.
League of Legends Demon’s Hand Set-Up and Getting Started
To start playing, ensure your *League* client is updated to the latest version. Once updated, click the Play button, navigate to the game type menu, and select Demon’s Hand. This will launch you into an introductory story, followed by your first round of the card game.

On your screen, your hand is displayed in the bottom row of cards. Your health, coins, and percent crit chance are shown in the bottom right. Above that, you'll see your Sigil box, where you can have up to six Sigils active at once, starting with none. Keep in mind, your health isn't restored after each battle; instead, visit the tent locations on your map to restore a percentage of your health when needed.
The enemy card is at the top, with its health and damage displayed in the bottom right and left corners, respectively. To the left of the enemy card, you'll find the attack coin, indicating how many hands you can play before the enemy attacks. On the left edge of the screen, there's a book listing all playable hands, their names, and base damage for a standard round.
How To Play Demon’s Hand in League of Legends

To deal damage, you'll play poker hands, which are renamed in Demon’s Hand but follow the same principles. The ultimate hand is The Demon’s Hand, equivalent to a royal flush. Here's a list of the hands you can play, along with their poker equivalents and base damage:
- Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
- Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
- Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
- Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
- Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
- March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
- Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
- Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
- Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
- The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)
In addition to base damage, the numerical value of each card adds to the total damage. If an enemy has a special ability that negates a specific suit, those cards will be crossed out, and their numerical value won't contribute to the damage.
Spice Up Your Attacks with Sigils
Sigils add another layer of strategy to your gameplay. You can purchase them during store phases, marked by coins on the map, which you earn by defeating enemies. Each Sigil has unique abilities, visible when you hover over them in the store or during a round. Some Sigils enhance specific hands, like boosting Dyad damage, while others may grant extra turns before enemy attacks or reduce the damage you receive.
That sums up how to play the Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends*. If this minigame isn't your cup of tea, keep an eye out for the upcoming April Fools skins to enjoy in Summoner’s Rift.
